“Whatever”

All things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Matthew 21:22 KJVWhat a wonderful promise from our Savior Jesus Christ. All things … whatever we ask … in prayer … believing … we will receive. Stop for a moment and ponder that statement by Jesus. Let the words all things roll around in your brain for a moment or two. Now consider whatever we ask. Don’t stop there, consider whatbelieving represents. (Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Heb 11:1). If we believe, we shall receive what we asked for.
That’s a powerful concept, isn’t it? Anything, yes, anything we ask for in faith we will receive.

Mark 19:46-52 records the event of Bartimaeus receiving his sight. When Jesus had the blind man brought before Him, He asks Bartimaeus what do you want. At this juncture there were many people in the crowd that wanted many things, but here stands one solitary blind man, and the King of Glory asks … what do you want? Bartimaeus knew what he wanted, there was no question or doubt. He wanted to be able to see.

Blind Bartimaeus saw through the haze and fog of religion and looked into the Glory and Power of God. At that moment, he saw even before he was granted his eyesight. His cry had been Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. Bartimaeus was asking thewhatever in faith, and the impossible happened. He received his sight.

What is your whatever? Ask it today in faith, believing that Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. (Heb 13:8 KJV) will hear your cry. Yes, you may ask. He is listening even above the roar of the crowds. He hears your prayer of faith and the answer is yours.
